Embedded Systems Engineer
You will work with modern C/C++ standards, FreeRTOS, Embedded Linux, and ARM Cortex/RISC-V toolchains, using JTAG/SWD debug interfaces, oscilloscopes, and logic analysers. You will own firmware architecture, lead end-to-end development, and bridge hardware-software integration for next-generation connected devices at Giantplus Middleware Solutions UK Ltd.

*About the Role:* London is a global hub for technological innovation, and at Giantplus Middleware Solutions UK Ltd., we apply that same world-class standard to our hardware and software integration. We build real-time, high-performance embedded systems that power next-generation connected devices. We believe that low-level engineering should be clean, modular, and resilient. We are looking for an Embedded Systems Engineer who can take ownership of our firmware architecture. You aren't just writing C code; you are defining our low-level system strategy. You will bridge the gap between complex hardware interfaces and robust software execution, serving as the authority on system performance in a room full of developers and product managers.
Why Work With Us?
• *The Environment:* Our workspace is situated in the heart of London's tech ecosystem. We value an environment that fosters technical focus—think collaborative lab setups, cutting-edge hardware gear, and quiet spaces for deep coding.
• *Engineering Culture:* We don't need you to convince us that low-level optimization matters. We know it does. You will have a direct voice in hardware architecture and toolchain decisions from Day 1.
• *Modern Stack:* We work with modern C/C++ standards, FreeRTOS, Embedded Linux, and ARM Cortex/RISC-V toolchains. Our hardware engineers use state-of-the-art diagnostic gear, so we debug issues efficiently.
• *Growth:* You will have a budget for continuous learning, technical certifications, and top industry conferences to keep your engineering skills sharp.
Key Responsibilities:
• *Firmware Architecture:* Maintain and evolve our core embedded software frameworks. Ensure reliability, clean abstraction layers, and low-latency execution across all microcontrollers.
• *End-to-End Development:* Lead the firmware process from initial board bring-up and driver design to high-level middleware integration and system validation.
• *Hardware Integration:* Collaborate with hardware design teams to evaluate components, debug custom board revisions, and optimize power consumption.
• *System Testing & Analysis:* Don't just guess. Validate performance using oscilloscopes, logic analysers, and automated test suites before deploying code to production devices.
• *Technical Collaboration:* Present architectural decisions to stakeholders and lead cross-functional reviews. You can explain how memory constraints impact system performance, not just that the code compiles.
What We Are Looking For:
• *Experience:* 3+ years in Embedded Software or Firmware Engineering, with a proven track record of bringing microcontroller-based products to production.
• *Technical Depth:* Deep proficiency in C and C++ programming for resource-constrained environments, along with hands-on experience using RTOS or Embedded Linux.
• *Tooling:* You are fluent with hardware debug interfaces (JTAG/SWD) and modern version control systems (Git).
• *Communication Skills:* Professional fluency in English is required for system documentation and daily cross-functional collaboration.
• *Mindset:* You are pragmatic. You know when to push for absolute code optimization and when to deliver a stable, reliable build for system testing.
