About the Opportunity

We are seeking a strategic and people-first People Director, to lead our Europe People function, supporting employees and leaders across the United Kingdom and Portugal.

This role serves as a key member of the European leadership team and will be responsible for shaping and executing our regional people strategy while ensuring alignment with our global vision, culture, and business objectives.

The Director, People will act as a trusted advisor to business leaders, partnering closely with them to drive organizational effectiveness, leadership development, employee engagement, performance management, employee relations, compliance, and total rewards programs that enable sustainable growth across the region.

This role requires a leader who can seamlessly balance strategic thinking with operational execution. The ideal candidate brings experience supporting high-growth technology or consulting organizations, a strong understanding of European employment practices, and a passion for building high-performing teams and exceptional employee experiences. You will play a critical role in strengthening our culture, developing leaders, supporting organizational change, and ensuring our people practices scale alongside the continued growth of the business.

This role is a hybrid role, coming to our office in London at least 3 days per week.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the People strategy across the UK and Portugal in alignment with global business objectives.

Partner with regional and global leadership to align people initiatives with business priorities and growth objectives.

Advise leaders on employee relations matters, performance challenges, organizational changes, and leadership effectiveness.

Support the design and implementation of compensation, benefits, and reward programs that are competitive, equitable, and aligned with company philosophy.

Drive employee engagement and retention initiatives across the region

Oversee the full employee lifecycle including onboarding, development, promotions, performance reviews, compensation cycles, and offboarding

Lead and develop the regional People team, including the People Partner and Office Manager

Help integrate teams, processes, and ways of working across regions as the business continues to scale globally

Partner closely with Recruiting and business leaders on hiring strategy, talent planning, and organizational growth.

Ensure compliance with employment legislation and people-related regulations across the UK and Portugal.

Provide guidance and support on complex employee relations matters and risk management

Build scalable people programs and leadership practices that support a high-growth international business

Use data and employee insights to identify trends, risks, and opportunities across the organization

Collaborate closely with global People & Culture leadership to align regional and global priorities

Help strengthen culture, communication, and leadership capability across the region

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

7+ years of progressive HR, People, or Business Partner experience, including leadership experience within fast-growing professional services organizations

Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices

Demonstrated success partnering with senior leaders on organizational design, leadership coaching, change management, and employee relations

Proven ability to influence stakeholders and navigate complex org dynamics

Comfortable wearing multiple hats, juggling projects simultaneously, and prioritizing as business needs shift

Strong understanding of performance management, total rewards, people operations, and the policies needed to support a growing, talented workforce

Experience modernizing and scaling culture, people processes, systems, and operating models

Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with high emotional intelligence and relationship building skills

Nice to Haves

Experience in technology, consulting, professional services, data, or AI-driven businesses is highly preferred

Experience working in a global team

Experience supporting international teams across multiple countries is preferred

Knowledge of Portugal employment practices is a plus
