Python Developer – Commodities Trading | London (Hybrid) | 6-Month Contract | £800/day | Inside IR35

We're supporting a major energy trading firm in their search for an experienced Python Developer to join their post-trade technology team on a 6-month contract. This is a key role working on a cloud-native platform supporting real-time intraday position and P&L reporting for the front office trading business.

£800/day (Inside IR35)

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop and maintain scalable, secure applications using modern back-end and/or front-end technologies.

Build and support solutions on a cutting-edge AWS platform.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust technical solutions to trading requirements.

Contribute to CI/CD pipeline enhancements and feature releases.

Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture and security practices.

Essential Skills

Hands-on Python development experience, ideally in your current or most recent role.

Strong background in commodities trading or financial services is essential.

Experience with AWS services including S3, ECS and AppSync.

Experience working with Kafka and PostgreSQL.

Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles.

Agile delivery experience with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
