Job Title

Software Engineer (Mid / Senior / Staff / Principal)

Salary

£80k-£160k + Equity

Company Description

Electric Twin is a $14M seed-stage London startup backed by Atomico and Marc Andreessen, building a behavioral simulation platform. Founded by the UK Prime Minister's former Chief Data Advisor and a senior military commander, they create "digital twins" of real populations to help organizations test decisions with 95% accuracy in minutes.

Job Description

Join a high-caliber team of 17 building the future of behavioral simulation. As a Software Engineer at Electric Twin, you will own complex systems from design to deployment, orchestrating foundation models and data pipelines. You’ll tackle real engineering challenges—like system design and reliability—while shaping a product used by major organizations like The Times to predict human behavior.

Location

London, UK

Why this role is remarkable

Work at the frontier of AI and behavioral science with a $14M-funded team backed by world-class investors like Atomico, LocalGlobe, and Marc Andreessen.

Tackle deep systems problems, including population-scale simulations and orchestration of foundation models, with a platform already delivering 10,000x faster results than traditional research.

Enjoy a high-trust, low-ego environment in Soho with meaningful equity, 16% total pension matching, and a culture that genuinely prioritizes work-life balance and unlimited leave.

What You Will Do

Design and build the services, data models, and APIs that power sophisticated behavioral simulation workflows using Python, FastAPI, and TypeScript.

Take full ownership of product capabilities, collaborating closely with data scientists to turn research-validated simulations into robust, customer-facing product features.

Shape the engineering culture and technical direction by deciding trade-offs between speed and rigor and ensuring systems are reliable, reusable, and trustworthy.

The ideal candidate

Demonstrates a strong track record of end-to-end ownership, having shipped meaningful products and lived with the consequences of technical trade-offs across any modern stack.

Possesses excellent judgment under uncertainty, with the ability to reason clearly about speed versus polish and iterate quickly based on real customer feedback.

Brings proficiency or a strong willingness to learn our stack (Python, TypeScript, React, GCP), focusing on engineering fundamentals and system design rather than specific framework mastery.
