Private banks, meanwhile, are moving in the opposite direction, raising minimums and off-boarding thousands of clients. The Role

We are looking for a Founding Software Engineer to own major parts of Sora's platform end to end, working directly with the CTO and CPO. You will shape how the product works and feels for both clients and advisors, collaborate with product, design, AI engineering, and accelerate every stage of the software development lifecycle. Thriving in this role means shipping simple, reliable systems, and creating a product that clients and advisors genuinely trust and love to use.

What You’ll Do

Use your skills and AI to accelerate the whole software development lifecycle of our software (design, develop, test, deploy, operate and maintain).

Build client-facing experiences including onboarding and KYC flows, portfolio dashboards, and advice delivery

Develop advisor-facing tooling that helps wealth managers handle clients, portfolios, and proposals efficiently

Create the AI agents and workflows behind Sora's planning and advice engine

Collaborate with engineers, designers, product managers, data scientists, and wealth advisors to turn discovery insights into shipped product

Participate in the team's on-call rotation as the platform matures, keeping all systems reliable

Contribute across the company to engineering practices, product direction, hiring, mentoring, processes, and strategy

What You’ll Bring

Critical Requirements

5+ years of professional experience as a software engineer

Proven experience designing, creating and being responsible for systems

Strong fundamentals plus a deep understanding of how the systems you build on actually operate

Capable of executing the full software development lifecycle

A preference for simplicity over complexity in system design and code

Strong judgment about where to spend your time, balancing quality with shipping

Accountable and self-driven, with deep care for your work, your output, and the customers it serves

Strong communication and collaboration skills, a great reviewer and advisor, generous with knowledge and very open to constructive feedback.

Regular use of AI in your workflow, reaching for AI tools before manually executing tasks

Eagerness to keep learning as AI meaningfully changes what is possible every few months

A genuine desire to understand the business and shape the product at an early-stage startup, not just close tickets

Proficiency in English

Nice to Have

Experience with the Rust programming language and ecosystem

Experience with web development (HTML, CSS, JS, React) and mobile development (React Native)

Experience building on AWS

Experience developing AI agents and workflows

Experience in fintech, banking, or wealth management
