Senior Data Platform Engineer (Python AWS) London / WFH to £90k

Are you a technologist Data Engineer?

You could be progressing your career in a senior, hands-on technical role at a SaaS FinTech; their capital market tools are used by Investment Banks and independent research providers to automate and analyse client service and research consumption, presenting a complete overview of the client relationship made available via the Cloud.

As a Senior Data Platform Engineer, you'll lead the design and evolution of scalable analytics platforms, ETL pipelines and workflow orchestration systems that power product insights and AI-driven capabilities.

This is a hands-on role focused on modernising legacy systems, reducing technical debt and transitioning services into a high-performance, serverless AWS architecture.

What You'll Do:

Design and scale data platforms, analytics pipelines, and ETL workflows

Build robust, production-grade services using Python and AWS

Develop high-throughput APIs and scalable data infrastructure

Improve reliability, observability, performance, and operational efficiency

Support AI and machine learning initiatives with strong data foundations

Drive architecture decisions and modernisation strategies across the platform

About you:

You have strong experience with Python and AWS cloud technologies - including Amazon CDK

You have expertise in data platforms, analytics infrastructure and ETL orchestration (they use Luigi so experience with that is beneficial)

You have experience of moving data / ML solutions into production environments

You have a strong understanding of scalability, latency, reliability and observability

You're collaborative, comfortable mentoring others, provide technical direction and communicating with senior stakeholders

You have achieved a 2.1 or above in a STEM discipline
