This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of the UK's most recognisable cultural organisations as they embark on a major data transformation programme. You'll take ownership of building a modern data platform from the ground up, driving best practice across data engineering while helping the organisation unlock the full value of its data and AI ambitions.

THE COMPANY:

Part of a renowned charitable organisation that entertains millions across the UK, this is the largest publicly funded performing arts organisation in the country. The organisation is investing heavily in modernising its technology estate and creating new opportunities to leverage data, analytics and AI to support future growth and innovation.

THE ROLE:

You will take ownership of designing, building and evolving the organisation's modern data platform. As the technical lead for data engineering, you will define standards, mentor a growing team and deliver data solutions that support business-wide analytics and future AI initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

Leading the design and implementation of a cloud-based Lakehouse platform using Microsoft Fabric

Building scalable and reliable data pipelines using a Medallion architecture approach

Designing robust data models and semantic layers across multiple business domains

Establishing engineering best practices, governance frameworks and development standards

Managing and developing a small team of data engineers

Partnering with stakeholders across the organisation to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions

Enabling high-quality downstream reporting, analytics and Power BI semantic models

Supporting long-term data innovation and AI initiatives across the organisation

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

You will bring strong capability in:

Strong expertise in dimensional data modelling and semantic layer design

Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and/or Azure Data Services

Proven experience delivering end-to-end data solutions, from ingestion through to Power BI reporting and analytics

Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

Previous experience managing, mentoring or leading teams, with at least two direct reports
