About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Software Engineer to contribute across the full software development lifecycle within a small, expert team. You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and testing real-time embedded software algorithms, specifically focusing on critical applications for uncrewed autonomous systems. The role is ideal for an engineer eager to take substantial ownership in a high-impact environment, working on sophisticated challenges such as Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) techniques and advanced machine learning for navigation. You will be part of a company pushing the boundaries of what's possible in autonomous flight and digital twin technology.

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and test real-time embedded software algorithms for autonomous systems.

Contribute across the full software development lifecycle, from concept to deployment.

Implement high-performance solutions for flight safety and GPS-free navigation.

Apply formal design methods, verification techniques, and test-driven development.

Write well-structured, efficient, documented, and thoroughly tested software.

Ensure adherence to software engineering best practices, including coding standards and code review.

Collaborate closely with a highly technical team in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

Degree (2:1 or above) in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

Minimum of 3 years' professional experience in real-time embedded software development.

Strong expertise in C++, particularly within real-time or safety-critical systems.

Deep understanding of real-time systems, event-driven execution, and OOP.

Experience with PNT techniques, real-time operating systems, or machine learning.

Practical experience with software engineering best practices (design, testing, source control).

Willing and eligible to obtain UK SC clearance and comfortable working in defence.
