Founding Engineer

£100k–£120k + Equity

Company Description

Fleetcraft is a $5.3M seed-stage London aerospace startup building AI infrastructure for aircraft maintenance and manufacturing. Backed by Susa Ventures and Liquid 2 VC—early investors in Anduril and Stoke Space—Fleetcraft is modernizing the systems used by technicians to manage backlogs and ensure airworthiness in a rapidly evolving industry.

Job Description

As a Founding Engineer at Fleetcraft, you will build the core AI systems that aircraft technicians use on the hangar floor. From designing voice interfaces to orchestrating complex maintenance workflows, you will own the technical roadmap end-to-end. Your work ensures reliability and safety in a highly regulated industry undergoing a once-in-a-lifetime transformation.

Location

London, UK

Why this role is remarkable

True founding-level ownership: You will decide the architecture, write the code, and witness real-world impact by working directly with technicians in the hangar.

Tier-one backing: We have raised a $5.3M seed round led by Susa Ventures (early Anduril backers) and are on a fast track toward our Series A.

Massive industry impact: You are modernizing critical infrastructure for an aerospace sector facing massive technician shortages and decade-long backlogs, where reliability is non-optional.

What You Will Do

Build and scale core MRO systems, managing everything from hands-free voice-capture maintenance records to complex workflow orchestration across maintenance operations.

Design and deploy end-to-end AI agent systems using LLMs to transform maintenance manuals and airworthiness directives into trusted, actionable data pipelines.

Lead technical reliability initiatives, including infrastructure, observability, and rigorous evaluation frameworks for AI within a regulated FAA/EASA compliant environment.

The ideal candidate

3+ years of full-stack experience using FastAPI, TypeScript, and React with a proven track record of shipping high-quality software at high velocity.

Possesses a co-owner mindset and pragmatism, capable of taking a project from architecture to deployment with full autonomy over technical decisions.

Highly adaptable learner with an interest in production AI systems; experience in early-stage startups, competitive programming, or building agents is a strong plus.
