The role

This is an AI biology lab building world models of immune disease. They generate proprietary biological and clinical data directly from patients, training models to simulate disease and predict drug response. Current autoimmune therapies see response rates as low as 10-20%; this team is tackling that directly. They're backed by leading investors and have access to petabytes of unique biomedical data and significant compute.

You'll be an early technical hire, designing, training, and evaluating deep learning models on high-dimensional molecular and clinical datasets. This isn't just about building models in notebooks; you'll own the training infrastructure, develop biological evaluation frameworks, and help define the technical stack. Expect significant autonomy and a direct impact on the research direction of a small, intense team.

The work

Design, train, and evaluate deep learning models on petabytes of high-dimensional molecular and clinical patient data.

Build and scale the core training infrastructure, enabling rapid experimentation for a small, ambitious team.

Develop novel evaluation frameworks for biological prediction, moving beyond standard ML metrics.

Help define the technical stack and research standards for an early-stage AI biology lab.

Contribute to systems that reason over complex biological data, generate hypotheses, and improve through feedback loops.

What You Bring

Elite ML/DL depth: a first-principles understanding and experience building/evaluating research-grade models.

Proven ability to design experiments, diagnose failure modes, and drive solutions autonomously.

Experience building robust training infrastructure that enables rapid iteration, not just notebook-based models.

Strong preference for experience with high-dimensional biomedical data (e.g., single-cell, transcriptomics, clinical trial datasets).

Willingness to work from the Liverpool Street office five days a week.
