We're looking for an AI Engineer who is excited by the challenge of taking cutting-edge AI technology and turning it into robust, production-ready solutions that deliver real business impact.
This is an engineering-first role where you'll design, build, and scale AI applications from the ground up. You'll work with Large Language Models (LLMs), modern cloud infrastructure, and distributed systems to create intelligent products that improve how thousands of users interact with data, documents, and business processes.
You'll have the opportunity to solve complex engineering problems, experiment with emerging AI technologies, and deploy solutions into production within one of Europe's largest insurance groups.
What you'll be doing
Designing and building AI-powered applications, including copilots, intelligent document processing solutions, and conversational AI platforms
Developing and deploying LLM-powered services and agentic workflows that solve real business challenges
Building Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems using structured and unstructured enterprise data
Creating scalable, resilient cloud-native solutions using Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Vertex AI, BigQuery, and Cloud Run
Engineering secure APIs, integrations, and backend services that connect AI capabilities with existing business systems
Optimising AI performance, reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency in production environments
Collaborating with engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to take ideas from proof of concept to enterprise-scale deployment
What we're looking for
Strong software engineering foundations with proven Python development experience
Experience building and deploying AI or machine learning applications in production environments
Hands-on experience working with OpenAI, Claude, or other leading LLM platforms
Knowledge of RAG architectures, vector databases, embeddings, and semantic search
Experience with cloud-native development and modern software engineering practices
Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and scalable system design
A passion for solving complex technical challenges and building high-quality software
Nice to have
Experience working within regulated industries such as insurance, banking, or financial services
Knowledge of AI governance, security, and data privacy considerations
Exposure to MLOps, model evaluation frameworks, and AI observability tools
Why join us?
This is an opportunity to build AI solutions that move beyond experimentation and into production. You'll work on meaningful engineering challenges, have the freedom to explore emerging technologies, and help shape how AI is adopted across a large and growing organisation.
We're investing heavily in AI and looking for engineers who want to be part of that journey, influence technical direction, and see their work used at scale.
