About the Role

Our client, a leading financial services organisation, is investing heavily in the future of AI and

intelligent automation. They are looking for a highly motivated Senior AI Engineer to join a growing Data & AI team focused on building an advanced Agentic AI Platform.

This is a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of AI innovation, developing and training autonomous agents capable of generating, testing, and deploying code within a controlled and governed environment

You'll play a key role in shaping how AI is safely integrated into critical business functions, creating the guardrails, rules, and frameworks that ensure agentic systems operate effectively, responsibly, and securely.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and optimise AI-driven solutions using Python.

Build, train, and manage Agentic AI systems capable of autonomous task execution.

Define and implement governance frameworks, guardrails, prompts, boundaries, and decision-making rules for AI agents.

Work closely with data, engineering, and business stakeholders to identify opportunities for AI-driven automation.

Improve agent performance through continuous training, testing, monitoring, and refinement.

Develop robust evaluation methodologies to ensure safe and reliable AI behaviour.

Contribute to the overall AI strategy and help shape the evolution of the firm's Agentic AI capabilities.

Stay current with emerging developments across Generative AI, LLMs, AI Agents, and related technologies.

Skills & Experience Required

Essential

Strong commercial experience as a Python Engineer, AI Engineer, or Data Scientist with a heavy Python focus.

Recent hands-on experience working with AI technologies within the last 6-12 months.

Experience building, training, orchestrating, or managing AI agents and agentic workflows.

Strong understanding of prompt engineering, agent behaviour management, and AI governance principles.

Experience implementing controls, rules, parameters, and safety mechanisms around AI systems.

Excellent software engineering fundamentals and coding best practices.

Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.

Desirable

Experience with frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen, OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar agentic platforms.

Exposure to MLOps, LLMOps, model evaluation, and deployment practices.

Experience within Financial Services, Banking, Investment Management, or highly regulated environments.

Cloud experience across Azure, AWS, or GCP.
