Job description
This role is based in the United Kingdom and as such all normal working days must be carried out in the United Kingdom.
Join us as a Product Designer
You’ll own the end‑to‑end product design process for small to medium‑scale projects, delivering user‑centred, inclusive outputs aligned to business and enterprise strategies
You’ll define scope, approach and timelines for product design, then execute clearly defined tasks that balance user needs, business goals and technical constraints
This is your chance to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to understand requirements, iterate outputs and support strategic initiative delivery, while growing your product design craft
We are offering this role for a period of six months
What you’ll do
Our bank builds simple, accessible and inclusive experiences, and your expertise is key to bringing these to life. You’ll own product design for small to medium‑scale projects, so our outputs align with project objectives, business goals and experience design strategy. You’ll make project‑level product design decisions within defined authority, informed by insights, to deliver user‑centred, inclusive solutions.
You’ll balance creativity and innovation with brand alignment, accessibility and technical constraints while communicating decisions and rationale clearly to stakeholders. You’ll work collaboratively across disciplines to clarify objectives, sharing progress, manage risks and alignment issues, and escalate as needed.
Your work will focus on:
Drawing insights from research to make data-led informed design decisions
Designing user experiences, information architecture and prototype outlines from end to end
Consistently applying guidelines and standards, contributing to improvements that raise consistency, quality, accessibility and inclusion in product design
Acting as a key contact for stakeholders to manage expectations, support understanding and influence decisions
Contributing to larger plans by supporting the development of programme‑level design activities where required
Continuously developing your skills and domain knowledge and supporting colleagues through feedback and best‑practice sharing
The skills you'll need
As a Product Designer, you’ll understand user‑centred design through both UX and UI, and have a good working knowledge of product design, design systems and accessible, inclusive design principles. You’ll have experience delivering high‑quality user flows, interfaces and prototypes informed and validated by user research, with a portfolio that shows engaging, user‑centred solutions and clear rationale.
You’ll communicate clearly, explain design decisions with confidence, and engage and influence project stakeholders.
You’ll also bring:
Demonstrable skills in design thinking, wireframing and interface design, information architecture, prototyping and engineer handover
Experience of managing and delivering product design projects at pace using Agile delivery methods
Confidence in operating in multidisciplinary teams, collaborating with researchers, designers, developers and product managers to ship work that meets objectives
A strong willingness to learn and develop product design skills through hands-on experience
