As a Java Developer , you will contribute to the refactoring and modernization of key applications for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). Working closely with client stakeholders and a large programme delivery team, you'll help design, develop, enhance, and migrate business-critical systems while ensuring high standards of quality and performance.

🔹 Key Responsibilities

✅ Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications

✅ Support application refactoring and modernization initiatives

✅ Collaborate with client teams, architects, and developers across the programme

✅ Build and migrate application components to modern platforms

✅ Perform code reviews and contribute to technical assurance activities

✅ Troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance application performance

🎯 Required Skills & Experience

✔ Strong experience with Java and Spring Framework

✔ Solid knowledge of UNIX/Linux environments

✔ Hands-on experience with SQL databases

✔ Experience using GitLab for source control and CI/CD practices

✔ Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

✔ Ability to work effectively within Agile delivery teams
