Working with C#/.NET Core, AWS ECS, Docker, Terraform, CloudFormation, SNS/SQS, SQL Server, and CI/CD, you will modernise and migrate legacy .NET applications into a containerised, event-driven AWS environment. Senior .NET / AWS Engineer - Cloud Modernisation
£450-£550 per day | Outside IR35 | 6 Months
London - Hybrid, 2 days per week onsite
We're supporting a UK technology business with a large-scale modernisation programme, migrating complex legacy .NET applications into a cloud-native AWS environment.
We're looking for experienced, hands-on .NET Engineers who have already delivered legacy-to-cloud modernisation within AWS and can contribute to an established engineering team from the outset.
This isn't simply a .NET role requiring some exposure to AWS. First-hand experience building and migrating applications into containerised, event-driven AWS environments is central to the requirement.
What you'll be working on
Modernising and migrating legacy .NET applications into AWS.
Breaking down existing applications into cloud-native services and microservices.
Containerising .NET workloads and deploying through AWS ECS.
Building and supporting event-driven/event-sourced architectures.
Working extensively with AWS SNS/SQS and asynchronous messaging.
Implementing Infrastructure as Code and automated deployment processes.
Working with SQL Server and existing application/data dependencies.
Contributing directly to architecture, development, migration and production delivery.
What we're looking for
You'll need strong commercial experience across:
C# / .NET / .NET Core
Legacy application modernisation and migration
AWS cloud-native engineering
AWS ECS
Docker / containerisation
Terraform and/or CloudFormation
Event-driven or event-sourced architecture
AWS SNS and SQS
Microservices / distributed systems
SQL Server
CI/CD and automated deployment
Most importantly, we're looking for engineers who have personally delivered this type of migration, rather than candidates who have worked adjacent to cloud migration programmes or are looking to gain this experience.
Contract
Rate: £450-£550 per day
IR35: Outside IR35
Duration: Initial 6 months
Location: London - 2 days per week onsite
Interview: Single-stage 30-minute technical interview
